Pink Slips Christmas Luncheon at Crown
Friday December 11th 2015

50 excited ladies made their way to the Crown Conservatory for the Pink Slips annual Christmas lunch.

Timing was perfect. The Christmas light show commenced as we arrived. Stunning!
The entry staircase was transformed into a colourful Christmas wonderland. The show was every half hour and is something all the family would enjoy.

Next LUNCH! A section of the conservatory was set aside for the Pink Slips. The lovely dining room overlooked the Yarra river, our photos will give you some idea the beautiful room and amazing spread. No calorie counting allowed today!

Cherry led a novel Kris Kringle, this proved a lot of fun. Seven excited winners of our
cash raffle were very pleased with their extra Christmas spending loot.

The casino and/or a bit of shopping beckoned and lastly our happy group headed home.

A big thank you to Cheryl H for all her efforts planning such a fun day.

Finally, to all have a very happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

Charity Garden Party in Mt Martha

Melbourne Shopping Tour
Saturday October 24th

Join Pink Slips as we hit Melbourne’s Outlet Shops for a full on day of retail therapy! You might have to go into training as we plan to hit at least 10 major outlets over a full day.

Coach Departs: 
Mornington - Sober Mule Homemaker Centre at 7:45 sharp!
Frankston – The Power Centre. Adjacent Harvey Norman at the exit onto Cranbourne Rd at 8:00am. Coach returns to drop off at around 6:00pm.

Cost: $50 per person includes coach travel & pub lunch. Note that numbers are limited by the seats on the coach so don’t delay reserving your seat with Cheryl.

Yarra Valley Spring Experience

After travelling by coach from the Mornington Peninsula, the day started with a morning tea at Yarra Glen’s Chocolaterie and a tour of their latest exhibition “Hop for Hope”.  The exhibition is a fundraiser for the Alannah and Madeline foundation and aims at working towards keeping children safe from violence and bullying.

We then managed a ‘Power shop’ in Yarra Glen followed by lunch at the Grand Hotel.

After lunch a wine tasting, garden tour and afternoon tea followed at Dame Nellie Melba’s Coombe Estate in Coldstream.

We were blessed with the weather, including the occasional burst of sunshine.  The photos following show some of the fun we had!

Mother’s Day Lunch at Werribee Mansion Friday May 8th

Mothers Day Autumn Tour to Werribee Mansion

The Ventura Limo (bus) took 41 excited Pink Slips to a day at the Werribee Mansion followed by lunch at Wyndham Cache. 

The comment of the day “What a surprise the Werribee Mansion turned out to be!”  The mansion is a stunning period building, each room offering an insight into the daily life of the well to do Chirnside family.  The photos attached give you an idea of the decor.

We were lucky with the weather as we could wander the magnificent grounds and Rose garden in sunshine. Back to the “limo” for a quick trip to our lunch stop at the Wyndham Cache. Keep this place in mind as it is very close to the Werribee Zoo and is an excellent cafe for a meal.

After a yummy lunch and a browse in the Gourmet Deli we made our way back home after another fun day out.  Thanks to Cheryl for all her work organizing our Autumn bus tour and thanks to the many Mums who could join us, we hope you had a very special day.  See you at our next get together.

Pink Slips Lunch & Tour

Pink Slips at the National Gallery of Victoria for the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition

We arrived early and waited excitedly for our tour. Gallery lines started growing but we were able to bypass the wait and go straight to our personal tour.

We donned our head-phones and Fiona, our guide, gave us an extremely informative and entertaining insight into the world of celebrity and high fashion. Kylie Minogue, Cate Blanchett, Madonna, Nicole Kidman and Andreja Pejic were some of the celebrities represented. Life-like models displayed the huge collection of gowns and costumes; the attention to detail was to be seen to be believed! Jo’s photos will give you some idea of the standard of this exhibition.

It was truly world-class. Amazing for us as Melbourne is one of the very few cities in the world to host the exhibition.

Even after a morning of tiny waist lines we enjoyed Kerin’s recommendation of the lunch deal at P.J. O’Brien’s in South Bank. Thanks Kerin

A big thank you to Cheryl for organizing our great day out; the tour and the exhibition were a once in a life-time experience!
