Events From 2008

2008 Christmas Lunch

On 5th. December 35 excited ladies, and baby Ella, arrived at The Rocks Mornington for the Pink Slips Christmas Lunch. What a beautiful day and a superb location.
Ladies were quickly rummaging through their Christmas goody bags and chatting to friends old and new. Lunch was a special Pink Slips menu and Mrs. Claus made a surprise appearance to distribute the Kris Kringle gifts (thanks Lulu). Lucky door prizes were drawn and judging by the laughter and chatter a fun day was enjoyed by all.
A big thank you to Cheryl H. for her tireless work collecting for goody bags and prizes. Her amazing energy made the day so much fun and she’s probably responsible for a tinsel shortage on the Peninsula!
In closing, the Pink Slips would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Best Wishes Chris N.
Keep your diary free for our February lunch on the 6th at the Manyung Gallery Mt. Eliza. We’ll have a sign-up sheet at the cruise night or email your booking to cruisinletsgo@hotmail.com

Heronswood Garden Tour and Lunch

Ladies arrived early for coffee and muffins in a private function room on the Heronswood estate.
Andrew was our guide for our hour long tour of the superb gardens. The bay views were magnificent and judging by the number of questions and responses the tour was enjoyed by all.
Returning to our room we were then served a glass of wine, quiche and salad followed by tea or coffee. Heather was our lucky lady and won a book donated by Heronswood.
A big thankyou to Cheryl H. for organizing a lovely day and to Cheryl M. for some great photos.
Heronswood Gardens is located at 105 Latrobe Pde., Dromana. (Mel-159 C9) www.diggers.com.au

Melbourne Cup Luncheon

The cruise night started early when the Pink Slips ladies invited the guys to join them for a fun cup day lunch at Moggy's Café at the Moorooduc Coolstores. Juz, Kim and Charlie from Moggy's planned the meal deal and Cheryl H organized the sweep & Calcutta-the stage was set for the big race. The Fashions on the Field was a lot of fun with all the ladies looking lovely. Raelene and Trish won the champers for the extra effort they made, both ladies looked stunning. Thanks to all involved with the day, doesn't seem to take much for us to have fun-a few birds may have sacrificed tail feathers though! Enjoy the photos-keep the lunch date in your diary for next year.

CANCER COUNCIL BIGGEST MORNING TEA

Sylvia Armitage suggested the original idea; thanks must go to her and the willing band of Pink Slip gals for helping pull the day together. A special thank you to Cheryl Hutson for opening her wonderful home for the day and 36 ladies and 2 babies managed to raise $555 for the Cancer Council.

Thanks to Cheryl Mills for arranging Dietitian Amanda Pittman to speak to the group. Amanda was excellent and the ladies thoroughly enjoyed her relaxed but informative presentation. Fortunately she ignored our sugar-laden spread and realized it was a "one off" occasion! All the ladies who made a ten dollar donation will be in the draw for a holiday to HERON ISLAND, the winner will be notified on 7th July. Our $5 raffle was a great success with more than half of the ladies going home with some goodies.
Thanks again to all and we plan a bigger and better day next year.

May Cruise Night Bling Party

Cruiser ladies found some bargains at the Bling Party on Tuesday evening. Female Heaven transformed the Sunset Room at the Peninsula Lounge into a mini-department store and lots of fun was had by all.
Thanks to Cheryl Hutson for organizing the night and courtesy of the evening, Cheryl has a couple of fabulous hand-bags to be used as door prizes at our future events.
Keep checking the "Pink Slips" for details and everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun.

February McClelland Gallery Lunch

The Pink Slips ladies started their day with a guided tour of the sculpture park at 11.00am. The attached photos show some of the exhibits and beautiful walks that are open to the public seven days a week. Amazing sometimes we fail to appreciate what is on our doorstep!
An enjoyable lunch followed and, as the restaurant is quite small, 21 chattering ladies soon made their presence felt.
Good fun.
See the upcoming events list for future get-togethers, everyone is welcome; just contact us to sign up.

February Cruise Night Fashion Show

The ladies, and a couple of adventurous guys, found their way into the back of the Bandroom Bar for the "Pink Slips" Fashion show.
Cathy Russo of Stiletto Fashions, matched some lovely outfits for our models Kaye Duyvestyn, Helen Burns and Cheryl Mills. As the girls paraded the ladies were able to feel and see the garments up close and later try them on if they wished. Cathy kindly donated 10% of the sales on the night to "Pink Slips" and this will be used as a voucher for a door prize at the Christmas Luncheon.
A big thank-you to Cheryl, Helen and Kaye for modeling and Raelene and Cathy for organizing the parade.
Look for our "Bling Party" at the May Cruise night-you will not believe this one!
